Dog people.
Big hearts.
Higher standards.
We’re a little bit obsessed with dogs. But what really makes Creedons different is the knowledge, care and passion behind everything we do.
Founded in Cork in 2010 by Clinical Animal Behaviourist Nanci Creedon, our business has grown from one woman’s vision into a centre offering professional daycare, grooming, training and overnight accommodation.
Our mission remains the same: provide exceptional care that puts dogs’ physical and emotional wellbeing first.
It started with two huskies who still had energy to burn.
Long before Creedons opened its doors, Nanci was already working with dogs through her successful dog walking and grooming business, Doggie W.A.G.S.
Demand for her services kept growing. And despite three walks a day, her own huskies still had plenty of enthusiasm left for life!
She began looking into an idea that was already popular in the United States: dedicated doggie daycare, where dogs could enjoy appropriate activity, companionship and professional supervision while their owners were busy.
After talking to dog owners across Cork, it became clear there was real demand for something similar here.
Following years of planning, saving, research and professional education, **Creedons Doggie Daycare opened in 2010** — with a vision for something far more ambitious than simply looking after dogs.
Nanci wanted a business where canine welfare, thoughtful handling and continuing education influenced everything the team did.
Built on passion. Grown through learning.
From one big idea to a connected family of dog care and canine education services.
Creedons opens
Doggie daycare in Cork becomes a reality, built on the idea that dogs deserve more than just somewhere to wait for their owners.
More ways to care
The business expands its services to support dog owners with grooming, training and comfortable overnight care.
Sharing our knowledge
Creedons College of Canine Studies trains future animal care professionals, extending the educational principles behind the business.
Meet our founder.
Nanci brings approximately two decades of professional experience in dog behaviour, training, welfare and animal care to Creedons.
With an academic background in Zoology and a Master’s degree in Animal Behaviour & Welfare, Nanci has dedicated her career to understanding why dogs behave as they do and helping people provide them with better lives.
Her professional work has included complex canine behaviour cases, dog training, public education, professional teaching and the development of canine education programmes.
She has contributed to television programmes including Channel 4’s The Dog Academy, Channel 5’s Cats & Dogs at War, RTÉ’s Today and ITV’s Good Morning Britain.
But what matters most to Nanci is putting that expertise into practice: helping the Creedons team offer compassionate, responsible and genuinely dog-centred care.
Nanci’s original biography also lists IAABC-CDBC, AABP-CDBC and CPDT-KA credentials. These will be added to this section once their current status and preferred post-nominal wording have been verified.
Trusted to talk dogs on national television.
Nanci’s experience as a Clinical Animal Behaviourist has brought her expertise to television audiences in Ireland and the UK.
From puppy development to complex behavioural challenges, Nanci’s approach combines scientific understanding, practical experience and an appreciation of the individual dog.
Our values aren’t just words on a wall.
They’re the principles we want reflected in our decisions, our training and the way every dog is treated.
Welfare first
Dogs are individuals. Their safety, comfort and emotional wellbeing should guide the care we provide.
Kindness, always
We believe in gentle handling, reward-based approaches and teaching rather than relying on fear or intimidation.
Enrichment matters
Good dog care means opportunities for appropriate play, exploration, sniffing, rest and mental engagement.
Never stop learning
We value education, professional development and being willing to improve when new evidence or better practices emerge.
Honest communication
We aim to be open with owners about suitability, wellbeing, progress and the care their dogs need.
Passion with purpose
Loving dogs is important. Understanding their needs and providing appropriate care is what makes that love meaningful.
A team brought together by a shared love of dogs.
The Creedons team brings together people with different strengths, experiences and personalities — all working towards the same goal.
Across daycare, grooming, training, reception and hotel care, our people are the heart of the experience customers and dogs have with us.
We want every team member to feel supported in developing their skills, communicating clearly with owners and putting dog welfare first.
And yes, there’s plenty of laughter, affection and wonderfully silly dog moments along the way.
We’ll be introducing our current team here soon, with individual photographs and a little insight into what each person loves about working at Creedons.
We don’t just work with dogs. We help educate the people who care for them.
Creedons College of Canine Studies reflects our belief that the dog care profession benefits from better education and stronger standards.
Through the College, learners can develop professional knowledge and practical skills in canine training, grooming, behaviour and welfare-related subjects.
The College is a QQI provider, and forms an important part of the wider Creedons commitment to developing knowledgeable animal care professionals.
Our vision extends beyond the dogs attending Creedons today. It’s about helping improve the standard of dog care for many more dogs in the future.
“Our love for dogs is what brings us together. Our commitment to learning and providing better care is what keeps us moving forward.”
